From a very youthful age I regarded myself as an outsider. I’m queer, and I realized that very early on. I was in a military services relatives that picked up and moved all over all the time, so we had this extremely different lifestyle from other men and women. I was different, and I’m captivated to folks that are also diverse. I really do not even really like the phrase “outsider,” but there is an embracing of people becoming them selves that historically runs by way of the South — unquestionably in the situation of artists. I was born in Georgia. My uncle went to school in Athens — he was an activist who was deeply involved in a ton of points in the 1960s and early ’70s listed here.
