In July 2021, mosaic artist Mia Schon and her cousin, Charlie Dov Schön Guterman, were imagining about mounting a loved ones exhibition with a Judaic bent. It was noticeable to Mia, who grew up in Newton and now lives in Israel, that Israel’s seven species as explained in Deuteronomy 8:8—“a land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees and pomegranates a land of olive oil and honey”—was laden with that means for her spouse and children.
