ALABASTER Twp. – Building upon an already lengthy local history, USG is looking to continue its gypsum operations in Alabaster Township well into the future. To secure the ongoing production, as well as the employment of those in the community who work for USG, the company is completing the steps to establish a new quarry. USG officials presented their plans at a recent meeting of the Iosco County Board of Commissioners, and noted that construction of the Avery Quarry is proposed for this year.
